Well, there are several "names" for "that person"--I could list all can think of, but that would probably get me into trouble ( as usual !)--
So I'll only list the one that someone has posted here recently, and that I kninda like the best, at the moment, anyway--"Twit".

How do you wear out a trip mechanism? It would take several million change cycles to even begin to wear those parts. It's more likely someone tried to pry the rivet apart.
