Hello,

I am new to this forum/hobby. I have a Rowe AMI 200. The machine will not pick up any record at all, when a selection is made the carousel spins for a while then quits. Whats the best place to start? Thanks in advance for help, this repair process is gonna be a long one I think!

Brian

Hi Bryan,
Fist thing I advise you to do is read all of the above, "informational-sticky" posts. Then determine the model number of your phono, then purchase a service manual package, from one of the above listed vendors--then READ it ! After that, inform us of the model number, and someone here should have a few suggestions-- Ron Rich

Hi, Brian, I would need to know which Rowe Ami 200 you have, If it is an early one ie. electro mechanical, early sixties to mid seventies if it is one of these and if the search unit is firing the pins and the record magazine starts to turn but does not stop to select the record. then there is no stopping switch action. check to see if the pin is being fired (pushed out). if it is then see if the stopping switch is hopping the pin,
if it is hopping the pin. then possible faults lie in the slip ring being dirty, ie bad contacts with slip ring blades, failure of stopping switch, or switch is out of adjustment, (unlikey) . but before you check any of these if you do not have a manual then I would purchase one.

Hi Brian,

Welcome to the forum.

The guys are correct we need the model number off of the jukeboxes serial number plate so we can steer you in the right direction, if the jukebox was produced after 1963 it would be electro mechanical based on the 1100 mechanism, 1976 mechanical/electronic based on the 1200 mechanism and from 1979 electronic based on the R-84 to R-94 jukeboxes.

If you can not find a model number please send a picture of the front of the jukebox and we will identify it for you.

Regards
Alan
