Rockola AMP replacement Transistors

Hello All;

For a Rockola 450 amp that uses Delco 7305626 output transistors, does anyone know of a available source for these or a replacement part number (nte ecg etc).

These "seem" to be NPN germanimun (sic) TO-3 cased hi-power audio transistors.

Also, I "assume" there should be mica washers under them.

If there are not replacements, is it possible to modify the circuit to use silcon transistors instead? I do have a schematic.

Thanks to all of you in advance

Tasha

Hello Tasha,
A search on the internet shows several distributors of Delco Germanium transistors. Unfortunately they all have 2Nxxx numbers. I would guess yours have proprietary numbers on them, making them hard to cross reference. If your electronic knowledge is exceptional, you might be able to check out the 2Nxxx specs to see if any of the available transistors would work in your amp. The same goes to converting to silicon transistors. Maybe copy the output circuit from another silicon output power amp. You could probably figure out the biasing to tie it in. Hope this helps and good luck.

Hello Tasha,
Have you had any luck in finding replacement transistors? I am on the same boat, My family has been in the jukebox repair business for many, many years and someone has misplaced the cross reference booklet that we had.

Best regards,
