Rowe Ami JBM 200 Tropicana

by copyright03 » Fri Dec 06, 2013 11:33 pm

Hi!

My boss has given me a JBM 200 as my Christmas bonus.
The downside is, it isnt yet working.. I have managed to get the selector working though, but I have no sound.
Also, i'm going to buy lights tomorrow, does anybody know what I will need to get? A 3' strip light for the middle & then what is it for the top, behind the swirly bit? (Apologies for my technical terms). The jukebox is still in work, & if i dont buy the lights tomorrow, I wont get any till next weekend..

All help would be greatly appreciated!

If you are talking about fluorescent lamps, remove the defective ones, and it should have the info printed on one end or the other. If not, take them with you to the store. Don't forget starters--

Yes, they are the ones :D
My problem is though that they are all in work though, & I cant seem to find any info at all online about what to replace them with..
Any ideas where to look online? :)

According to the original setup-service manual the lighting consists of:

1 -28 inch 25 watt T12 lamp -Front door panel.

1 -33inch 25 watt T12 -(Your Host) and portions of both title areas.

1 -24 inch 20watt T12 -for the mech shelf.

1 10C75-DC (that is an incandescent bulb w/ dual contact bayonet base) for the animation box.

1 #47 miniature lamp for the credit window.

Good luck finding some of those oddball fluorescent lamps as they are even getting rare over here in No. America.

We re-imported a K from the Gt Britain in fall 1989 for a location herein NYC. These use two 33in 25 watt tubes and both had reducer-spacers to permit a more readily available tubes (over there).

Rob,
Has NYC digressed back to the dark ages ? Are there no more "Mom & Pop" lighting stores around ? No large ACE Hardware stores ? All of the above here, have, in stock, or can order, all of those lamps. Ron Rich

Ron, yeah this outpost of Liberality does still have those options. But they no longer carry oddball sizes and their unit cost is full-list.

Since I have 18 -33" lamps in the Seeburgs along with several other types and machines, I just order by the case every 2-3 years. I have an account with an electrical wholesaler in Queens. I specify Phillips or Sylvania -G.E. of all things, are now crap.

Rob,
I was thinking along the lines for the individual JB owner, who should not need to have "back-ups".
I too, stock them by the case. I probably have enough in stock, to light up all of NYC.
"Crap" ?--yep--Brand name seems to make no difference, as I have had cases of all "major brands", that had lamps that would not light, or would not last any length of time.
BTW--I purchased a box of "universal starters", because I could not find FS-4's,--found out even tho it says it works from low wattage, to 40 watts, they will not light a 36 in T-8 ("30" w), lamp !

If you will guarantee it, I'll be on the next plane--No one, EVER, has been able to sort me out, in the last 70 years !! --And Lord knows, starting with my Mother, and Father, and the rest of my family, the attempt WAS made ! Ron Rich
