Did you oil the idler shaft--turntable shaft, with the proper oil ??

Hi Ron, yes both have been cleaned with alcohol and oiled with 3 in 1 motor oil. I've also tried lithium grease but didn't see any improvement

Hi Adam,
IMHO, "Grease"of any kind, does not belong on "brass bearing"surfaces--
