Need schematic & help for GE RC1711B with Vacu-Magic

by CPS CZI » Sat Aug 06, 2016 10:16 pm

We have a very nice General Electric RC1711B (or maybe RC1710B--I don't know wood finishes very well) with a Vacu-Magic. I'd appreciate any information about this console, most especially a schematic or a source for one. It's super dusty, but I'll include some pictures when it's cleaned up a little. Another issue right now is the cover was catching, so we tried to take the hinges off to realign it only to find there's a wire going through one where apparently it attaches to a little light in the lid. That's a first for us, too. (The other first is the Vacu-Magic motor. Not sure if it works or not.) Help? Anyone?? Thanks!
Diane

A potentially dangerous console to monkey with.
That vacuumatic feature was dumb, but the real problem is the cannister down inside that is supposed to catch the "dust" from the records.
It's made from....... are you ready for this?................ dangerous asbestos!
Worst design ever!
Just what people need... a fan-driven asbestos powder-laden living room.
Someone call the EPA!
The Internet is a marvelous thing, however it's not a good substitute for actually being there.
