Motor Capacitor equivalents

The run capacitor for my jukebox is shot.
It is a 1.2uf (non standard today) -
The local orange box store sells replacements for fans that are above the 230 voltage listed on the cap,
and is 1.2uf.

Can I substitute this type of cap for the original?
Can I substitute a standard bi-axial (non-polarized) electrolytic for the run and start caps?
As I understand it, the run capacitor should be an exact math (+/-%), while the start cap can be deviated from a little bit.

I am also curious if you can use standard capacitor math with motor capacitors. (IE parallel cap values are added together).

Any help confirming or denying the capacitor info I have would be appreciated.

Just curious--which brand/model jukebox/motor uses the 1.2uf ?
As I understand it--voltage rating above call out spec. is never a problem.
I don't understand your first "sub" question ? What was the original type--what is the new type ?
Second sub question, I think you are correct.
Don't know why that math would not work--watch voltage readings--

I think this is from a home unit. Cannot read any info.
The start cap is 6.5 and the run is 1.2

My main question is can I replace the run portion of the dual can motor cap with a "fan" capacitor
with one like this

Ron, I'm not sure what model. It is a seeburg mech (clutch etc) but it has 2 motors. It looks like a 50 records (100 selection), I just found part of the juke, and just wanted to play with it.

OK-- It sounds as if you have one of the "33rpm -12inch, Home Stereo" models--Which relay is located on the front of that mech-- an enclosed one, or an open style ?
I have the correct motor cap for that unit, or just about any cap should work--BE SURE to oil both tubes on the Play Motor, with 20 wt.ND oil ONLY--as they do tend to freeze if not properly oiled--and I ainna gots nomo of dem !! Ron Rich
