Rock ola 460 credit switch and remote volume and cancel control.

by Upertron » Mon Aug 15, 2016 8:05 pm

Ok I finally got my gripper arm to work but now I have questions about how I can disable or make a remote credit switch as I don't want to keep opening the juke box to get credits. Second I have a remote volume and cancel box but the sound is not crisp. At first if I went to the off position on the remote it seemed to send it to internal in the juke box which produced a crisper sound although the left channel didn't work (does in the remote). Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi,
I don't quite understand what you are doing-want to accomplish in regards to credits ? Do you wish to establish a totally free play situation, or partial ? Does this model phonograph have a mechanical, or electronic pricing unit ?
As for you amp problems--1. try using the local control-- 2. If you still have the same problems, your amp NEEDS to be serviced, by someone who knows that amp. Ron Rich

The 460 has a mechanical credit unit that can be altered to freeplay without doing any damage. Unlike models a bit earlier, establishing credits does not engage and heat the lockbar solenoid, To play without coins, first establish credits; multiple credits if you have the album unit and want both credit lights lit. Pull the flat pawl arm and spring from the ratchet wheel in the credit unit and you're done. Retain these parts so coin play can be easily restored.

Hi Patrick, and all,
IMHO,on this type of RO pricing unit, there is a "faster/easier" way to accomplish this-- simply look at the relay that engages with the wheel, remove "front" one of the mounting screws form the underside, loosen, the other one, slightly, and twist the relay so the actuator, misses the wheel when the relay is activated.--Tighten that one remaining screw tight--be sure there is a lock washer under it (or a sems screw has been used)-- ( about a ten second, easily REVERSIBLE, job) Ron Rich
