Nsm ES 160 Festival Jukebox NO -5V on main control board... this seems to be intermittent fault -5V Led was working, stopped, worked again and had now stopped Again?!
please advise?

Something intermittent like this is the most difficult to find--IMHO. You will need to get out the schematic and trace where it comes from, and find where it is failing--USUALLY, something like this is a poor contact on a plug, or a poor (dry-cold) solder joint somewhere in the chain. Ron Rich

Fault was found to be VR202... It's the -5V voltage regulator, closeup seen in the top pic...

If that regulator was "turning off/on", you MAY want to check it's specs. Some of that size regulators have built in "protection" for an over current draw. If the NSM specs call for the protection, you may have a problem somewhere in the system ?? Ron Rich

Will keep that in mind thanks... I'm waiting on IR diodes LD242 to replace in the coin reader and carriage position wheel. Should then be in a position to test how it functions, hopefully :)
