Hi,
Finally I have the space to install a jukebox,
and I found a decent one : Rowe AMI MM6 Bourbon Street. :)
The owner told me the power supply transformator was broken,
I found one quite easily (from an MM1). :D
All voltages are OK, all a bit on the low side though.
Maybe the 220-115 V primary trafo is causing that.
Upon powering up the following happened :
a record was put on the turntable, taken away again and reshelved.
That happened 3 times. :?
That was it.
No fancy background lighting, nothing.
Inserting a coin lighted a lamp "selection", a second coin gave "extended selection".
But none of the selection buttons "stick".
A real mess of wires was attached to the jukebox, leading to some kind of remote control for the volume,
and for balancing the ouput between the jukebox itself and 3 external speakers.
I detached everything and after that, although coins are accepted, no light appears.
Rotating the thing under the plastic cover manually lights "selection" and then "extended selection",
but nothing further happens.
Please, please, :?: can somebody assist me in a step by step way to check, replace, and so on gradually,
bringing back each functionality in the order it is addressed by normal use ?
I have a mechanical background, but I can measure voltages and make good solderings :
my father was a radio and TV repairer.
Thanks infinitely in advance for any help offered.
I have the MM6 service manual, and also the MM5 one (the MM6 one is basically a supplement to the MM5 one).
Regards and greetings from Belgium,
Jan
