Won't spin..help?

I recently found and automatic turntable. Its a rim drive Panasonic model RD7504. The spindle and motor shaft work fine but when it touches the rubber wheel, it just gets stuck and won't spin whatsoever. Any tips or help would be appreciated. Thanks
Check the idler (rubber wheel) for glazing or hardness. It should be supple. Clean it with re-grip or rubbing alcohol if that's what you have. Check to make sure the auto change mechanism isn't jammed.
Vinyl is disease which attacks that area of the brain desiring digital recordings. Once you catch it, you are cured.

Lubricate the shaft of the idler wheel and the turntable hub.
