Seeburg FC1 Question...

Hello, I just recently bought a seeburg fc1 and it came with a few problems.First, I am trying to locate the manual scan mode mech. I feel from what I have read that this switch may be sticking. What the unit is doing, is that every time you make a selection, it just plays in sequence what it wants to play. I've already worked out the other issues with the key pad. I would really apprecitae any knowledge or advice any one could give me on this matter. Thanks...

Welcome !
My partner and I owned over 25 Seeburg FC-1's, GREAT sounding machine, if set-up properly---and you know what, we never did find that switch !
I would respectfully advise that you purchase a Service Manual PACKAGE, that includes the "I & O" manual. In it, you will find all sort of interesting things about that model, including how to use the service switch assembly. (see announcements above for where to buy).
Also you might consider a copy of my "Seeburg Microlog Trouble Shooting Guide", and if you read it, you would find out that the problem you are having is that the ground connection on one, or more of the RCA plugs, is not making good contact-- Hint--two plugs are located on ---can you imagine this--- The Service Switch Assembly !!--- And the third is on the DCC---
Hope that helps ! Ron Rich

Thanks for the info, it was very helpful. It works great after cleaning the grounds up. I have a copy of your microlog book that came in the mail today. I will be sure to read through it. I think I may have also found the scan switch, I could be wrong but, please let me know if you can. The switch I found is located on the right side of the cabinet where the marquee prop leg sits by it spring.(If that makes sense?)behind the coin return. There is a switch back there. If I have the lid partially up it will scan, if I have it all the way down it plays all my plays. Let me know what you think. Thanks again for the info.

Thanks for purchasing the book !
The whole "service switch assembly ( less "selection pass"), SHOULD be on the left hand side of the mechanism. "The "selection Pass" portion should be mounted on the left hand side near the door lock--it should have a wire that's "hit" by the door lock cam turning, to push it into the "no" position.
What I think you see on the right is a big (usually white--but some were black) plastic switch. this controls the lamps--Ron Rich
