Rock-ola 444 - buttons stay down when selecting

by spongmonkey » Tue Feb 16, 2016 4:47 pm

hi everyone, on Sunday my Rock-ola 444 stopped working. It has been a bit temperamental with selections for a while but now when I press in a selection, the buttons stay down and nothing else happens.

If I press reset they pop up

if I make a selection manually on the wobble plate? the jukebox plays fine

my skill level is probably 1% but does anyone have any suggestions for things to try that a complete novice could investigate?

Hi
I would check the contact points on the lock and latch bars, the write in relay and cable connections

If your skill level is truly 1 %, it is my humble opinion that you should, un power the phono and, "call a pro" before, you cause -more- damage !
Aside from that, if you know how to check switches, Clones is correct ! If you don't--read the announcement and sticky posts above this one--
If you know how to read a meter, you might check to see if the write-in motor is powered when the solenoid is locked down--it should be with 25 vac---these OFTEN "get stuck" due to lack of/improper lubrication. Ron Rich
