I've solved most of my issues, but I'm having some difficulties with something I can't seem to troubleshoot. Whenever it moves to a slot with nothing there and attempts to pick it up, it doesn't sense that nothing is there and gets stuck playing a "ghost" record. The weird thing is that it only does this for the A side of the records. Another issue I'm having is that the record counter solenoid is no longer firing and the selection lights quit working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is no "no disk" reject on those machines, or any Seeburg made after the "V". It should "sit 'n spin" with no disk. If the tonearm is drifting to trip-off w/no record it is unbalanced and that should be corrected.

The pop meter solenoid is actuated primarily by a set of contacts on the vertical stack at the front of the mechanism. About midway up there are three blades with a short one in the middle. Those are the pop mater set. See that they are reasonably clean and not pitted and have some wiping action as the cam raises them when entering play mode. Check also for mechanical binds on the pop solenoid itself.

The no record in slot switch, was eliminated in the VL run--it was re-constituted with the AQ models, only if a 33 rpm record failed to spin. It was once again, permanently eliminated in the DS models. On most post 1966 models, if an empty slot is selected, one side will "sit and spin" while if on the other side, the needle arm will eventually get to the center, causing a trip off that record slot---this is fairly normal.
The pop meter is operated as Rob pointed out--however--it is fused, with a 1/2 amp sloblo fuse on the mech front*.
The selection playing lamps may or may not be served by that same fuse. There was a wiring change that separated the two items, but apparently "some one" did not get the memo, and some were wired the "old way"-- The lamps do not need to be fused. See your Service Manual Schematics--
*Service manuals call out the front, back, left and right differently, as the mechanism was "reversed" in some models--I'm using the "original" call outs. Ron Rich

Yep, I was told that the proper set was to have the arm biased to trip-off with no record. It always seemed counterproductive especially on these machines that can track at 2grams. I always zero-bias them to reduce wear.

So these models need to be fully loaded up with 45's? I'll check the mechanism and related fuses as the solenoid and lamps weren't a problem a few days ago.

Basic rule of all brands and models of jukeboxes--they are designed to make MONEY--nothing else--therefore they MUST be fully loaded with records, at all times !
If the meter and lamps JUST failed, somehow, you have lost your 25 vac source--could be the fuse--could be a plug ??
