NSM CD-Silver City

by Las Vegas Jukebox » Sat Mar 23, 2013 3:13 am

Hi All,

I have just picked-up an NSM CD-Silver City. The CDM-3 player seems to be faulty, but before I go searching for a new one I want to confirm that it is the player and nothing else. This is where I need help.

The player is completely dead - does nothing at all, or even attempts to do anything.

The Lift and Selections work OK.

When in test mode "P60" "F4" the CD is selected and dropped on the player, then "Er.60" is displayed.

I noticed that on the Wechsler Adapter the "CD-TRAFO" LED never lights and there is no cable connected to ST10, but I don't know if this is normal.

Is there any way to confirm for sure that the CD player is at fault?

Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
Keith

Keith,

Let me check the info I have for my NSM Galaxy CD machine. I think it's the same internals.

I am a NSM Repairman. More than likely, your CDM3 player is bad. I have changed several of them, and also have 2 good ones left. Let me know if I can help in any way.

They also make conversion kits for them. Happ Controls have them in stock. Here is the website.

According to the manual, Error Code 60 is "Error before playing CD (track selection)" The solution is "Exchange decoder board, microcomputer T018 on pickup driver (IC8)" This is verbatim from the book.

I do have a cable plugged into ST10, but the other end terminates in the wiring harness and does not plug into anything.

Hope that helps a little.

That just goes to my "love" of "NSM's"--
I am not bright enough to read "Gerlish".

Hi Jeff.
I have a Fire CD jukebox ES IV with cdm-3 laser player that works 60 percent of the time. I see you have a good one left. How much? ...Thanks Gary Stenogary@aol.com
