My wife and I just bought a home and this stereo system was left in the garage. I want to get it out of the garage, but am unsure of how much it is worth. If anyone has info on the value of this system please let me know. The model number is ST 648 and I live near Seattle, Wa.
The operating instructions were also with the unit.
Thank you.

Consoles are usually not worth much, because most people don't have anywhere to put them.

Andy (Gonefishin14),
Please post some photos of your player. Be sure to get all sides, the top, the interior, and bottom (only if it has any functional (not merely structural) parts, though usually not). Look for any manufacturing tags and other writing, and get close-ups of these. If you cannot post images, try looking up similar models on eBay, Craigslist, Google, or museum/collector sites and reference them in your reply, so I can at least have an idea of what you have. For the same reason that Record-Changer mentioned (that is, consoles are not a popular item), it may be better to offer your device up for parts, if it is largely beyond repair - we might not be able to save all of them, but a sacrifice may save others (like organ donation, but for electronics.) There are artistic individuals who would love to have the structure to make it into a new piece of furniture, if you do choose to go through with disembowelment. However, for posterity's sake, if you can at all save your piece, DO! I understand if you don't have room or desire to keep it, so to reiterate, please post some pics.
"See" you soon,
Phonosus
