admiral stereo

I just found an Admiral "phantom 3rd Channel" stereo. The model #s are either, y4850, y4870, y4880. I can't seem to find any info on it on the internet. I'm not sure what year it is, i'm hopeing someone can help me...Elliemay

Might be able to find something if you will post pictures. Sounds mid 1960's stuff. Solid state?

Probably early-to-mid 60s tube model. Motorola and RCA also made similar models during that period.

To find the production date you need to take the back panel off. (that is if it is tube) There are two sets of tubes. On the bottom set of tubes... gently brush of any dust on the bottom metal area (left center if looking from back). There is a date stamp.
