Seeburg USC1

I am new here, like very new. I Just got my very own Seeburg USC1. Got it moved into my arcade area and it looks great, the only thing is, it does not play. The mech will move from left to right but I can't seem to be able to make a selection (I hit the numeric pad and nothing happens). The Black Box does not have a pricing card in it so it should be on free play (though the coin mech is also absent, not sure if that makes a difference). The manual credit switch by the popularity meter dial does nothing, but the switches for the start mech and stop mech appear to work fine. I will go ahead and apologize if I am not using any of the correct terms for things, but I have purchased an I&O manual and it is currently on the way to my house. Not sure where to go from here to start trouble shooting this project and any help is most welcome. I also wanted to say that I am happy to be a new part of this community and hope to be able to make some new friends while here. Thanks in advance from a noob.

Gotta service manual ?? If so, check the voltages on the front, test points, of the DCC--If correct check the 8.2 voltage inside the
DCC on the 311125 PCB--If in-correct--fixem ! If this is your first Seeburg, I would humbly suggest that my "Seeburg Mechanism Guide', and my "Seeburg MicroLog Trouble Shooting Guide" should be of some help--depending on your skill level. Have you ever felt dumb? I sure have. Got my manual in today and started checking voltages as Ron had suggested. They were, of course, wrong. While I'm trying to figure out how to adjust them I (finally) notice there is a part of my DCC that just isn't there. That whole square that has the auto speed relay and the output transformer is just gone. Didn't come with the jukebox. While I admit I am very new to this and don't know anything yet, I'm thinking this is a huge part (if not all) of my problems.

The Autospeed can be installed, or left out--phono will operate on 45 rpm just fine as long as a "Dummy plug" ( yep--attza what it's called !) is installed into the Autospeed socket--See the DCC schematic, which probably is not correct for that DCC---(If the motor runs at all, the dummy plug is in place). Well now that we have established that I'm dumb (even dumber than I thought), what should my next step be to figure out how to adjust voltages?

Ron you are correct the manual is for a DCC1 code B and the machine has a DCC 3 code B. Also sent you a PM. Thanks.

Found a wire coming from the 24 pin connector from the black box the 6th one from the bottom that is hooked to nothing. Can't figure out where it goes. Been scouring the manual and just can't find it. Also the reset light comes on all the time, even right after pushing the reset button.

I do not recall any "loose wires" there--but look in the Service manual--very good cabinet wiring diagram there--

still looking through the manual. Just can't seem to find the pin out I'm looking for. The blue tubing is coming from the black box then splits into several smaller tube (all going to different components). Just can't figure where this one lonely wire goes. Got an adapter on the end so I figure it goes somewhere. I'm still learning and this is very frustrating, but a lot of fun at the same time.

Easy---you did not say it was an "independent connector"--I had assumed it was a broken wire--
It goes to the PAC kit, if that phono had one (unlikely, as it was an accessory). Ron Rich

I haven't given up yet! Checked the voltages on the DCC.
For -27 I got -35.3
For -13 I got -0.0
For 27 I got 25.8
The select any single light is on, but so is the reset and reselect. I push reset and it goes off, but just until I let go of the button.
I cleaned all of the "fingers on the DES hoping that would fix it. (Kind of a terrifying experience getting that thing apart and back together). From what I can tell in Ron's book there is supposed to be a ground wire coming from a screw in a plate back to another screw in the same plate. I thought it was strange but that's how I read the book and that's how it was already wired. Messing with the DES didn't fix it, but at least I don't think I've made things any worse.
Any help or suggestions are welcome. I'm going to go reread Ron's book another time or two.

Best that you un-plug that phono, go re-read the guide--if you truly have those voltage readings, they MUST be fixed prior to plugging in the black and gray boxes, or you WILL mess them up--Ron Rich
