I am looking for a stylus for a RCA Victor Orthophonic Player. All I have is the Model # of the unit SHF-8. I believe it was built in 1957. Thanks

Howard,
SAMS Photofact 346-10 indicates the RCA cartridge number is 100653. The description for the following referenced cartridge on ebay says it is a good replacement for RCA 100653. You may want to consider it.

PHONOGRAPH CARTRIDGE-SONOTONE 2T, 5T, 7T, RCA 78748 Item number: 350002267348

Also, a replacement cartridge is Astatic 55T. Here's one on ebay.

PHONOGRAPH NEEDLE CARTRIDGE-ASTATIC 55T,ASTATIC 409,57T Item number: 330183027125

I realize you want the needle. You can contact any of the big cartridge/needle sellers on ebay and in my experience they are helpful. AND you might just take the needle you have with the current cartridge and get a number off of it...same as cartridge. This would help. You could do a search on some of the sites having good pictures of needles and compare your needle. Often this works well. I know you said you have no information on your stylus but you have it?

Information I provide may or may not help because the original cartridge or needle may have been changed out before. You should be able to remove cartridge/needle with ease and determine for yourself. Sometimes past repair or replacements may have been wrong.
