hi

got this 445 recently - takes selections and this selector insede machine goes round and roud but will not make anything happen... also motor service swich makes recordplate motor turnig but that´s alla - will not make record holder turn or take any record - think that this system is broken/jammed - when trying to move the arm that takes record you see that it´s not moving - same when try to turn this record case.... is it possible that machine is totally broken/jammed? some motor systen broken?? Also selector panel is abit broken under it (circuit board) but still works and takes selections...all fuses seems ok, light etc are ok.... Is it easy to take motor ssystem out and try to fix it on table??? Please mail some ideas..best wishes, Kari

Maybe--but like your Seeburg--you need to have the skills and information to trouble shoot these problems.
IMHO, starting with the correct "Manual set", so that you can determine what/when your phono should do anything.
Did you read the above posts in this jukebox section ?? Ron Rich

Kari, I have pulled machines out of filthy basements, garages and a barn where a Wurltizer 2900 had provided housing for a field mouse and family.

To do a proper restoration requires a good understanding of how electro-mechanical and electronic devices work, and a lot of patience. If the machine has been in distressed circumstances, it is best to remove all major components from the cabinet and, using diagrams in the service manual, remove parts from the mechanism to prepare it and the cabinet for a thorough washing.

As Ron mentioned, a service manual is essential if you want to make progress and minimize the chance of doing damage.

Two rules of the game:

1) Do not power up a machine that has sat idle for years. Smoke will often result.

2) Do not "tinker". Don't adjust anything unless you know what you are doing and why.

Ok, 3, Ask questions!

Hi
After checking fuses, plugs, wiring I would clean the wobble plate slip rings. It is likely that the record gripper mechanism is seized
