Good idea if you are not well versed in changer repair. No point in destroying the thing.

That might not be a BSR.

It might be a Collaro PH1250. It looks like a BSR, and even has the speed and off-on-reject controls in the same place, but it has the same mechanism as the Collaro/Magnavox changers made after 1968. It has the 3-size tonearm scan. And the overarm can be removed for single play by squeezing a clamp in the back of the overarm shaft.

I have worked on several of these changers. i also have an owner's manual.

How to tell which it is:

If the changer has a control with settings for record size (7-10-12 or 17-25-30) it is a BSR. The Collaro has the record size scan.
