I know I had made a post on this before, but I know it wasn't recently. I have had this Magnavox Stereo Console for
a couple of years. I remember seeing it in a thrift store by my house(that recently closed) and I just loved it instantly.
All I had to do was just bring it up, plug it in, and enjoy it! The needle was new, I believe whoever had it before must
have replaced it. The sound is nice and crisp. I also was able to hook my CD changer up to it, so I can enjoy my CD's
on it as well. I have had 3 or 4 other Magnavox Stereo consoles(one of which is still in my attic) but this one is by
far my favorite! i just love the cabinet, and the style to it! Its got the old style Imperial Micromatic record changer
in it. This time I uploaded a few pictures for you all to see. Honestly, the best $50.00 I ever spent on my life was
on this stereo. Please feel free to take a look at my pictures, and let me know what you think of this nice Magnavox!
I also truly believe that if I had lived back in the time of 1962, this is the stereo I would have picked out!

Absolutely gorgeous! I know that they come out of Fort Wayne, Indiana, but I think someone mentioned that these cabinets were made down south by a reputable cabinet maker. I just love their sound, but I have a problem with a CD player sitting on top of that second lid. The bass is just too much and the player skips like crazy. I have to use some thick foam (like the inside packaging for computers) to help isolate the vibration, but that doesn't always work.

I only have one small tube console, about 38" wide with one lid, but would be curious to hear these Pre-Astro-Sonic units. Looking at your front speaker grilles, it seems like your unit had quite an array of tweeters/midrange. How much MUSIC power did these things put out?

Damn, I'd hate to go out and start looking for some tube units. There are already six Astro-Sonics (plus other Maggies) in the house plus several out in the garage. No more room in the Inn.--BB

it is WONDERFUL. The very first Magnavox Tube Console I had, belonged to my Great Aunt. It wasn't a
huge console, yet it wasn't small. I will post of picture of it if I can find one. This is the second tube unit that I had, the other couple consoles I had were Astro-Sonics, and a few of them were late solid state models from the late 1970s. My first console system was a Sylvania from 1979 which was awful, and the next one I had was the Magnavox, I have had like 5 or 6 Magnavox Consoles after that. Unfortunately I could not keep all them, just no room as you know. I have kept the real long Astro-Sonic which is up in the attic. The Manavox Astro-Sonic 656 model, and the this 1962 which is the Tube Set which is still in my bedroom. It does give out a lot of power, and I have always been amazed at the sound quality. The Astro-Sonics are good, but get youself a rather large pre Astro-Sonic unit(like this one) the tube sound is so warm and crisp! you wont be disappointed!
