I recently acquired one of these bad boys and noticed a spring-like wire (almost like the hook you use to hang up Christmas ornaments) towards the back, underside, of the tone arm, just sticking out. Should this be connected to anything? Or is that how its suppose to be?

Thanks

Is this the Rex, Rex A, Rex AA, Rex S, or Rex Deluxe?

How can you tell? I've looked under the platter and motorboard both and found nothing. If it helps, this model uses the tapping tone arm and the stabilizer disc.

The Rex Deluxe has an umbrella spindle, automatic record-size scanning, stereo wiring and 4 speeds.

The PE 66 has an overarm, automatic record-size scanning, stereo wiring and 4 speeds.
