Garrard Type A Mark II Rumble

by wingnut049 » Sun Jan 08, 2012 3:32 pm

My Garrard Type A Mark II has just developed a rumble. When I played a 45 the needle skipped and I noticed the cartridge shell vibrating. It's not as bad on a 78, but it's still there. Will lubricating the changer where necessary correct the problem or am I looking at having it repaired? Thanks, Jeff

Probably needs a new idler, and/or servicing. Yup.
The Internet is a marvelous thing, however it's not a good substitute for actually being there.

I had it rebuilt by my friend Joel Thorner (Turntable Factory). I'll try cleaning the idler and take it from there. Thanks.
