NSM CITY (Vinyl) ES IV - Error 32

Good Morning From Canada,

Recently came into a NSM vinyl jukebox - ES IV - I get an Error 32 when I plug in the machine. I've tried reprogamming from the manual instructions, but no love - Error 32 remains on the display regardless of what buttons are pushed.

I have read that replacing the IC5 chip/battery may be the solution to this type of problem. Has anybody run into an "Error 32" on an NSM vinyl jukebox? Any tips?

Much Appreicated,

This is probably not much help, but I have an ES IV system on my NSM CD machine. I checked the service manual to see if they listed an Error 32 code and unfortunately they do not. However Error 30 refers to a problem with RAM contents, so you might be on the right track if the battery in the RAM module is bad. I don't know how available that part is.

Mine says it's a Zeropower Ram MK48Z12 from ST Microelectronics. There are datasheets out there on it. It looks like it's not socketed, however, so some careful pc board work is involved to R&R it if you do come across a replacement.

Good luck!
