Seeburg USC2 Mechanism

This is not really a technical question but could easily lead into one :-)

So I picked up a few jukeboxes last week, knowing they needed a great deal of work but the price was right. So the mechanism that was inside the USC2, was loose which I knew but did not look that close when I got it (my fault), it is the wrong mech unit. From everything I have read, the USC2 should have the 160ST23 mech, the one that was in there was the 160ST28, here is the million dollar question, what is the real differences between the 23 & 28 and can I use the 28 in the USC2?

Ron,
Electronically, interchangeable --mostly "gingerbread" differences--if it fits, it works !

Thank you...
That is basically what I thought after going through the manuals for the mechs in both USC2 and STD4, was just curious if there was some strange anomaly that would get me later :-)

Not sure I have ever heard the term "gingerbread" differences before, what does that mean :-)

Ron,
How about "stuff"--such as the service switch is attached differently, gray box support is different--mech cover was different--
nothing of real importance-- Ron Rich

Thank you again... that does help and the differences make sense
