I have been reading this great forum for a while now.
Name is Pete, I live in the UK
I have just restored to full working operation my first Jukebox. A Rockola 474 Sybaris
I was fortunate enough to have been given it at the best possible price (free
It was a real basket case however. But after nearly a year, I have finally fully completed the restoration, It is working beautifully now.
I am a real stranger to Jukes, but no stranger to electromechanical or electronics, I trained for many years in electronics.
I have a couple of questions however.
There is one last thing I need to do to the Juke to complete it, and that is to fit the popularity wheel back on,
however there seems to be no mention of how best to re-align this in the service manual. In fact there is no mention of it all.
has anyone any tips on how to do this ?
Also my machine unfortunately was missing its special tapped volume control (both on the amp and also the remote unit).
Inside the amp is a small PCB containing 2 electronic attenuator chips, these are controlled (by a DC voltage) via a dual gang pot mounted in a small remote box (which I have assembled) this box also contains a free credit button linked to the electronic credit system (not the coin switch) and also the cancel button.
Does anyone know where I might obtain the correct remote unit for this machine. I have tried all the usual Juke spares suppliers in the UK.
Many thanks folks, great forum.
Oh before i go, I remember reading a post by Ron Rich regarding a 474 he had problems with (the symptom, chattering of the play relay followed by the CB popping out, only while playing B sides). Did you fix it Ron ? and if so I am intrigued to know what the fault was.
Thanks
Pete
