Hi Scottie,
Just a WA guess here--motor not reversing (switch ?), or, clutch bad ?

Hi
I would say definitely the carriage needs to be cleaned and lubricated, there is a a clutch along with some gears which can easliy clogg up if the machine hasn't been used for some time, there is also a microswitch on the carriage to allow it to shift directions. There is also a scan button on the control centre which you can use to check scanni9ng from left to right and right to left

I will try cleaning everything, when it goes to the end, it clicks, then the motor reverses, but it wont travel right, it just keeps hard left and clicking. I will try to work on it wed. thanks.

Hi

Mine also had this problem. There is a board below the record rack (that is involved in the carriage reversing) on the carriage that rides the carriage rack. Make sure this board is operating as intended. Look for cold solder joints and/or components that have gone out of spec.

Best
Darrell

Ok so I cleaned the opto sensor and the sensor on the board, checked the wiring connectors, put it all back together, and now it works! Thanks, guys! now the 2 button wont register? I will work on that later today
