Just in case anyone is interested i am making some progress on this. Figured something had to be going on with the coin receiver to cause the credit solenoid to be in the stuck up position. So i pulled the coin assembly out figured this was not a waste of time because i could clean it and the contacts . It did have a few coins stuck in it. The reason was that someone installed the wrong length screws in it and it would stop the coin from going through once in awhile. Got it all cleaned up with new screws and it is operating fine. Only problem i see now with this part of it is when you put a nickel in it it gives you two plays. I also learned something else and this is after RTFM. I was wondering if the top portion of the back came off. Like i said i looked in the manual but could not find anything about it. Looked inside with a mirror and saw the two cam locks. Sure did open up the back end.

Hi Stan,
OK--your CCU or coin switch is miss-wired--see the Service Manual. Yes --the upper rear comes out see the Maintenance Manual--you got some more of that there RTFMing, to do  Ron Rich ,

OH Ya! I have a lot of RTFM manual stuff to do. Only thing is i have never been a person to just read the manual . I like to have my hands and eyes on what i am working on and then use the manual and high tech people like you. Then sometimes the old light bulb in the head will light up and i will say to myself " That is what they are trying to teach me". Never said i was fast. :D :D BTW i just ordered your manual and a set of needles .

Hi Stan,
Thanks for the purchase---hope it helps !
Guess I am different--I GOTTA KNOW what something's supposed to do/when, before I can fix it-- I have done been learnt, over the years, that iffin I getz me hands on it, and starts afixin, I am usually doing more harm, then good ! Ron Rich

Ron, You were correct. For some reason someone had the wires in the coin receiver crossed. Now i am going to continue on and keep cleaning stuff. Next thing will be the pinbank. That should be a lot of fun and it is starting already. The question this time is how do i disconnect the contact block ( Frog) from the pinbank assembly?

Hi Stan,
No one knows what evil lurks----(I ain't always rite, er, write---no, right, but I anin't never rong, neither )
Run the mech down one end. un-plug/free wire, from the SAU, remove the four screws--slide it "CAREFULLY", off the frog.

Stan;
I found this Facebook tutorial on cleaning the pinbank very helpful.
https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... 259&type=3

I desoldered the top contact trays (unlike the tutorial). Keep track of the positions of each contact tray so that each tray returns to its original position. In doing this, you'll not have to readjust the contacts.

The section on cleaning the pinbank in David Cooper's Restoring the Seeburg C is also helpful.

Got the pin bank out and started to disassemble it. Could not get the solenoid out because the coil wire on all of them is really short. Figured it would be easier to just disconnect this wire. So i was putting all the little parts in a magnetic tray. After getting the first solenoid out i thought i would stop and make sure i had all these parts. I just started and i am already missing one of the little tabs!!!!!!! I must have counted them a dozen times and only come up with 19! Spent the last few hours trying to find it and i have a headache. So it is time to have a beer. It could be still in the pin bank as i have not taken the other solenoids out. So do you guys think radio shack might have this part? :D :D :D . So i have to ask would anyone have a extra one of these (better make it two) around? Or should i post a wanted ad? Mine are steel if it makes any difference. Another question after cleaning all the contacts is there anything that is applied to keep it clean?

Stan,
Get thee to your Radio Shack--before it's closed !! --Oh,too late ?? sorry 'bout that--
You can purchase a "junk section" of a SAU, from almost all of the vendors listed above--read the "Announcements/stickies" above this post-- Ron Rich

Another question. In the Facebook thing it is stated. OK, Listen up! There is a rough side and smooth side to each tab along with a indent. THE SMOOTH SIDE DOWN and the indent towards the outside! Point them towards the yellow coils. All this matters or it wont work.
My tabs are metal and i do not feel or see a rough or smooth side. What is that all about?

So what the hell is this guy talking about? BTW I have no idea who made this Facebook stuff but it should only be used as a rough guide and they should have stated that.
