Seeburg Record Cut Off Switch Actuator

I have a Seeburg DS160 that has been working fine. Today on the A side of records the Record Cut Off Switch Actuator stopped working, B side seems to reject OK. I took out my trusty manual and looked at page 2455 "Pick Up 10" - Record Cut Off" (Trip Switch Actuator Adjustment) I am thinking this will be easy! However, I read NOTE: "Pickup 9" adjustment should be correct before making this adjustment. Easy enough, just back up one page, which is a blank page, so go back another page, which is page 2454 A which is "Pick Up 8" - Brush Adjustments(Stereo Pickup). Back another page is 2454 which is "Pick Up 8" - Brush Position Adjustments!
So I guess I will not be able to make the "Pickup 9" adjustment, so should I just go ahead with adjustment 10?
Anyone have any idea why only the A Side Record Cut Off Switch Actuator stopped working and is there some cure for this problem other than making adjustments?
Thank you
Darrell

oops, Found "Pickup 9" adjustment sandwiched in between the two page 8'S. However, It does not do me anygood as I do not have a gram scale to measure 1 or 2 grams of pressure. Is there any work around for this?
Thank You
Darrell

Darrell,
There are absolutely NO "adjustments" that can cause this problem ! The record cut off switch knows not one side of the record from the other. Look at the wires soldered to the switch--one is broken and touching what it should, on one side, not touching when the unit switches to the other side--3 second fix with a soldering iron--Ron Rich

After two hours it started working again on its' own. I think you hit the nail on the head. My other DS failed to cut off at the end of records and that is exactly what needed to be done. What confused me here is when it only did it on the A Sides of the record. It must me a solder joint going bad and causing the cut off to work part of the time. When it starts to act up again I will re-solder the wire(s). Thanks for jogging my memory.

Darrell,
Just reach down there and give a"pull" to the wires--you will find that one is attached only by the insulation--
BTW--My point, which I did not state clearly, is--Seeburgs (almost) never need "re-adjustment"--Once correct, if something goes wrong, it's most likely not going to be "fixed" by "adjusting" anything. Ron Rich
