Rockola Tonearm overrotating

Hey, It's me again, with another new issue!! Sorry for all of my topics. I'm learning a lot, I hope to be able to contribute to the forum on someone else's questions soon!

The tonearm on my Rockola 444 is occasionally overshooting the proper landing point on the record. It is happening more often then not now. The guides on the tonearm seem to be properly adjusted. The cam guides it to the correct position but sometimes it moves past the point where the cam guides it and lands in the middle of the record. I was reading some of the other topics on here and couldn't find anybody else talking about anything quite like this. It looks like the speed does reduce towards the end of the tonearm stroke but I'm not sure its speed reduction is that profound. I checked the speed reduction resistor and only found 0.2 ohms. The manual say it should be 15 ohm, but I'm not sure that I'm measuring it correctly or if that is even the reason the tonearm is over rotating. Ideas?

There is a little copper spring that holds the tonearm cam follower against the cam till just before the stylus hits the record. When it breaks over-traveling results.

That resistor is only in the circuit in the last second as the tonearm sets down to reduce bouncing. It is shorted out of the circuit by the relay at all other times and that is probably why you measure such a low reading.

Wirewound resistors don't change value when they burn out -they open.

Thanks man! It looked as though mine was missing, but I found it shoved down into the center of the cam. I dug it out and bent it back into position. It's working great again!
