Spike Jones was born it 1911. This disc dates from the late teens.

I guess, Ron, the sliding whistle reminds you of Spike Jones?

It sounds excellent--mellow, quite a bit of the lower register comes through, and hardly any surface noise.

Yes--that, the "rim shot", and the whole arrangement-- It would be my guess that Spike Jones heard this at one time -- :lol:
