CAUTION, that's an AC motor, which has a "spring loaded armature shaft".. This MUST "spring out, at the "instant" the power is removed. I would advise you NOT to "dis-assemble it", as it is almost impossible to re-assemble, "in line". I have had the most "success" just oiling it with 20 wt. oil on both sides of the armature shaft--work it in by hand, as you did with the gripper--then see if it is, in fact, getting power, before proceeding any further ----Ron Rich

Thanks for the specific warning. I have it pulled out now. I can't get the gear to turn by hand at ALL. So basically, this thing should turn freely from the gear attached to the gearbox driveshaft with a roll pin, yeah?

If I remember correctly--yes--that motor uses a "fly-out (in) clutch"--the armature moves horizontally to accomplish this--carefully, push/pull it "sideways", as you insert the oil--Armature should "spin free" (of gears), if in the "outer" position. Ron Rich
P.S. It MAY have "felt pads" for oil--don't recall, but if so, fill them !! Also, put a small amount of oil on any "pivot" points/gears that you can see--

Yeah, I'll be honest, I have zero experience with AC motors. I have no clue where any part of what you're talking about. The ONLY thing I see that looks like it's moveable without taking anything apart is what looks like a metal V-shaped brace from inside the coil with the power cable attached to it against the metal block that goes through said coil, and that everything is attached to, including the gearbox. Mine looks identical to the one in these pictures.

*edit* If there's some kind of 'clutch' holding this thing in place and keeping it from turning I can't find it.. What I'd really like to do is open up the gearbox and de-gunk everything in there, but I can't even get to all the screws I think I'd need to in order to open it. This thing is literally locked up solid... it won't even begin to turn.

I did just check the power at the connector. Looks like about 25 VAC when the third selection button is pressed. I can feel the hum of the coil when I plug it into the motor and it's active, but no motion at all, and can't turn it by hand either way.

Got it! My GOD. Okay, so after some basic google-ing and looking at diagrams of some AC motors, I kinda figured out that the armature wasn't moving at all, and which part that was. =P I hooked it back up to the power, pretty much doused it in oil, and since I couldn't get my fingers in there to try and give it a nudge, I took my needlenose pliers and gave it a poke, and it moved a bit. Only took about 5 minutes to get it going and hand-turnable from there. I don't know if it's really running at the correct speed to drive things properly or not, but at least it's SOMETHING!

Motor back in the juke and ......IT'S ALIIIIIIIIIIVE! Looks like everything is working as it should at this point.. I know my coin mech is still sticky but all things considered that's pretty minor!

You guys are awesome, and I really appreciate the help, even when it's a club over the head saying "HEY STUPID, DON'T DO THAT!" =) This was my wife's birthday present so when we picked it up and found out it wasn't actually working, was a little bit of a buzzkill...I'm freakin' *THRILLED* right now.
