Another Newb enters the forum...

by aahgo » Mon Oct 14, 2013 10:52 pm

Hi, just picked up my first jukebox, a nice unrestored Rockola 1468. I have read the sticky, I have the Manual, and I just ordered and received the Rockola version of Dr. Know-it-all's reference manual. These are good, but what I'm really looking for is more of a general guideline for reconditioning/restoring the working parts of old jukeboxes.

I've been doing this with EM pinballs for many years. In fact, I rarely plug in a new find before going through this process completely. I find this resolves 90% of the issues, and the remaining ones are usually not too difficult to trouble shoot from there. So does something like this exist or am I just going to have to learn by doing?

Thanks,
Glenn

Hi Glen,
Welcome--
The answer is ---Reading the Service manual, to become familiar with the circuits--then "doing".
(cussing seems, at times, futile, and at other times seems, "helpful"?)
Should you run into trouble--ask here--someone MAY know--

Ron;

Thanks for the reply. All journeys start with a step so we'll see how it goes. I'll probably be back here soon asking lot's of questions.

Glenn.
