I just bought a Rockola 425 and it works great BUT I feel like it's playing slightly slower than 45rpm. I've looked through the manual and there doesn't seem to be any speed adjustment. Is there something that can be adjusted/lubricated/etc... to make it play at a proper 45rpm?

Yep--The TT, idler wheel, and TT motor should be oiled with 20 wt. ND oil ( and tho it has nothing to do with speed of the record, the gripper arm assembly should be oiled with the same oil, as well as the other motors/bearings). The three TT Grometts must be an "off white" color, and still be flexable. You probably need new ones--Ron Rich

Thanks for the quick reply. As this is my first jukebox, all this terminology is new to me. I'm not sure what the TT grommets are...an explanation would be appreciated! I'm able to easily lift off the platter, but there's a whole lot goin' on under there. Also...is 20 wt. ND oil something I can get at the local hardware store, or is it more of a specialty item? I probably "mis-spoke"--should have said "motor support grommets"--They are the three rubber supports holding the motor. SAE 20 wt. oil should be available at any GOOD auto parts store ( usually NOT the "chains"), or it is available in small cans at most good hwdr stores under the brand name "3 in One MOTOR oil/SAE 20" --Do not use "regular" 3 in one. One other thing you should do, is to cleen the idler wheel, and Turntable (TT) mating surface with a "safety solvent". Ron Rich
