Seeburg G Dome Glass Frame

Hi

The right side dome glass frame piece has a screw on each end that attaches the piece to the other pieces of the frame. However, they do not tighten down enough to prevent the frame from pulling sideways away from the dome glass. What is used to secure the dome glass o the frame piece?

The only possible thing I can see is some black type of gunk that was put in originally. What would be used now?

Darrell,
It sounds to me like you have the wrong screws installed there ?? Check the parts book for correct size--( Also--check that the screws holding the hinge, to the cabinet, and to the glass frame, are the correct type/size)
If the dome glass is loose, it MUST be removed from the frame, and the frame MUST BE cleaned of ALL that "black stuff", then the glass must be re-sealed, withe either clear or black caulking material. Ron Rich

Ron

Thanks, I will recheck the screws. The glass itself is tight in the other 3 pieces of the frame.

Ron & Robert

Someone had put a wood screw in the frame! I replaced with a 8 x 32 1/2 inch flat head metal bolt. Fortunately I had not put a lot of torque in tightening the wood screw and the threads were still good. The black silicon is a great idea and the problem is now resolved.

Thanks to everyone for their assistance. :D
