Hello everyone,
Alright looking for some help. I do have the manual, and yes I'm not up on all the correct lingo but i am matching it up to the manual. I am trying to help out a friend that would like to get this jukebox working for him. Never touched a rockola, just familiar with seeburg and Wurlitzer. So heres the problem cleaned it up and changed fuses to correct ones. Someone jerry rigged this box and changed amps too. But he said it was working. Now everything seems to work with the exception of the read out assembly and the turntable and also the magazine. So I'm hoping someone can lead me in the right direction. I appreciate any and all help. Thanks for help.

Wayne,
WoW--you sure ain't left much to work with--I got a car that only goes down hill--too---can you help me with that ?
Almost sounds as if the service switch is in the"off position" as all that you mention is controlled by that switch ?

Ron,
I can help you with your car make sure you park at the top of the hill. Haha no I'm glad
see such humor. Let me break it down, the service switch will not scan and i did take it and move the switch to the operate area. Now i make a selection and the inner arm begins to rotate and finds the selection, but the outer arm on the selection levers does not move or rotate to the selection to start the magazine or the turntable, or the arm that selects the record just stays in place. I watched the amp and the current
Limiting lamp which i believe flashes when a selection is made does flash every time it registers a selection but nothing else moves i/e outer selector arm, magazine or turntable. Thanks

Wayne,
Where is the "gripper arm" ? Unless "parked" over the record basket, and the "switch made", the basket motor (which also turns the read-out arm) can not spin. Ron Rich

Ron,
The gripper arm was over the turntable like it had placed a record on the turntable that's how he brought it to me. And i dont know if i made matters worse because i figured that the gripper arm needed to be resting over the magazine so i found the motor and i was able to turn it by hand at the motor where it seemed to have a piece sticking up that turned both ways to raise or lower the gripper arm.

Wayne,
Sounds like either no motor power--or that switch is "bad". Ron Rich

Ron,
Thank you i will start there. Also i did find a cable tha comes from the left side of the magazine as you are facing the front of the jukebox one side is connected to the bottom left of magazine to a circuit board type connector that just plugs in and the other side of cable has two similiar connectors at the other end i have looked all around and see no similar connection anywhere else. Any ideas? Thanks again.

Just a guess--that wire is for an "accessory"--Ron Rich

Hi mercury 6,

It sounds like it could be a microswitch
Not set correctly in its groove on the cam in back
Of the mechanism. I have a #414 rockola
So I'm not sure if yours is same.

When gripper is over record magazine
Microswitch #1 should be settled in the
Bottom most part of cam which is in the
Back of mechanism. After you have made
Selection and write-in arm has finished
Spinning , try manually tripping microswitch
#1 which is the furthest towards rear of
Machine. This has worked for me before,
See if you get further movement.
