CD-100 CCC 4083220X?

by spudgunman » Wed Nov 20, 2013 8:55 pm

So in testing my CCC I have put the 4.3 rom on the unit I have a 40832201. When the game boots up its stuck in the RAM Test OK mode and reboots.
I just put 4.1 ROM into the unit and it boots no problems

my assumption is that RAM differences in requirements from 4.1 to 4.3 or different hardware etc..

Do I care.. is 4.1/4.3 differences even worth talking about on a old jukebox?

My orginal ROM was 2.7, I have updated the DIP pins and replaced the battery as it was shot. This Juke is not for commercial use.

Version 4.1 is still pretty good if your 4.3 does not work.

Is it possible your 4.3 is burnt to the wrong size/speed eprom? Is the eprom corrupt?

If you look in later CD100 manuals like for the E or F, you can see what extra goodies were added to the software starting I think with version 3.9

Sometimes after installing a new eprom into the CCC, you have to do a reset to factory defaults. Sometimes I had to do it twice.

the chcksum matches my original binary.. so as long as it was good my burn seems OK, it also verified 100% the same ROMS for 4.1 and 4.3 wouldnt imagine issues between the versions.. not sure what the release date was but they never changed the copyright in the code

The biggest features I wanted were the freeplay full album which I now have.
I dont know where to find the E/F manuals aside from buying them.. likely wont be doing that.
I did do a 0/1 defaults reset.. it didnt take care of it..

I might try reburning the ROM and verify it against 2-3 copies in-case something silly happened.

unless I hear of cool features that are worth getting, might just leave it.. I assume that the even numbered builds are likely internal as I never have seen external even number builds. So assuming that I am only 1 revision behind on the code..
