Hi All

My R-83 animated lights work as intended, which is great! An issue I have that is annoying, is that after sitting unplayed for various lengths of time, the jukebox seems to wake up and goes and plays a record of it's own choosing! It always chooses to play the "B" side of the record. I can not find any type of play stimulator that would casue this strange behavior.

What are some areas I need to look at to try to stop this unwated record playing from repeating?

Does that model use a CCC ? If so, which number ?

Hi Darrell,

Have a look at the Memory Unit 301-07855, on the left hand side there is a switch marked up Autoplay Switch, it needs sitching to off.

If set to 20min it will play at random the least played B side if no record has been selected.

If set to 40min it will play at random the least played B side if no record has been selected.

If set to Continuous it will play B sides at random.

If the switch is set to off then there is a fault on the LSI chip that can't be fixed (basically it has burnt a selection into its memory) this fault only shows up when a record is selected and it then plays this additional record every time the mechanism scans around until the service switch is turned off.

Yes it does have some computers in it. I think you are asking about the MEMOREC Selection Computer (401-07139).

There is also 4 more:

Sorry--I don't know that model well enough to answer your question--but I would guess that one of the LSI's was on it's "way-out", if there is no switch.
