USC2 Keypad problems

by willymotts » Sat Nov 16, 2013 2:38 am

I am new to this site and, unfortunately, no technical genius. I am trying to fix a friend's USC2. I recapped the Digital Controller and the Amp. It now plays (it wouldn't at all, before) but the "1" does not register to select records. When hitting the "1" button, the 1st digit light is activated and the 2nd digit light is activated with the second push of the button. However, on the third push, there is no "click" of the selection registering and no record plays. I appreciate any and all attempts to assist me with this problem.

Hi Willy,
Welcome !
I might suggest a copy of my "MicroLog Trouble Shooting Guide", would be of substantial help here. I go into the DES very deeply. And I suggest a "procedure" to trouble shoot this problem. (PM me if you wish to purchase it)
First thing I would check is the "selection pass" switch on the service switch assembly--make sure it's on "NO", and that the NC contacts are making well--
Use extreem caution when "working on" this system--shut off power to the DCC prior to "pulling/inserting" ANY plug--Ron Rich
