I'm not an electronics guru by any means, but I know how to solder and put new things in place. Can anyone give me a quick rundown on the proper way to install a new bridge rectifier into my wurlitzer 530 amp? A local guy here who builds guitar amplifiers, rebuilt my wurlitzer 530 amp. I have great sound out of it, but the mechanism moves slower than slow, and when you insert a coin into the jukebox, the coin credit unit just clicks. The only way the juke is working is if I fire a pin manually, but it's moaning and groaning to get the job done. I'm pretty sure the way he put diodes into the amplifier was wrong or perhaps the values. I'm not an electrical guy by any means, but if someone could help get me back on track, I'll just fix this myself. Please help me understand how to reverse what he did and do this right.
1. What bridge rectifier is needed on this amplifier? Can someone just point me to a radioshack link? I don't know what an amp is or how many volts are necessary. If you can just post up a link to the best one to get, I'll solder it in myself.
2. What is going on in the pictures below? Is that 4 diodes I see with a resistor after the fact? Can I fix my issue just by modifying what he already has in place? I don't want to burn anything up in the amp or machine, so I'm being cautious.
I wish I knew more about this stuff, but I just want it fixed so I can go about listening to my jukebox again.
