Wurlitzer 2000

Hi
I am working on a wurlitzer 2000, i was informed that the tone arm trip would not cancel the record. On looking at the machine there was no record on the turntable, the record clamp was released and the tone arm was back at the non playing position. When the machine is turned on the turntable is constantly moving and amplifier is on and override relay number 2 is energised, selection is possible and over ride relay no 1 will activate. According to the manual over ride relay no 2 should not activate until over ride relay no 1 activates. The only way i can stop the turntable is by actuating the blade switches using the screw assembly that is there behind the selction drum and below the motor but it has to be held in manually. There seems to be two sets of switches but it is difficult to make out whats what from the manual, are these the transfer and play switches. Would it be likely that the mechanism has not returned to its proper home position or problems with the service switch, i can't get any movement from the record basket or mechanism. All fuses are fine, any help appreciated
regards
