Wurlitzer 2400S Power Supply Caps Values

I am working through the Wurly 2400s, and I am now working on recapping and checking components (resistors, fuses) on the Power Supply.

1) C4 and C5 on the schematic and parts list are listed at .5 MFD, but the caps in there now are .22 MFD. Which is correct?

2) R1 10 watt wire-wound looks somewhat burnt, although I am tested 1.6 ohms. Does anyone know if this is a 1.5 or 1.8 10 watt wire-wound?

3) What are todays products that will replace the old lubricants
SAE 10 (turntable motor bearings, lightweight linkages). Should this be a non-detergent?

Don't know, but if the old caps look "original", I'd tend to stick with that value--
Isn't the resistor marked, or not shown on the parts list ?
I use 20 wt. ND oil, in almost all "jukebox related" lubrication. I also us a small dab of "CRC StayLube moly-graph hi temp grease" (Brand name) in areas that "slide". Ron Rich

Ron,

1) The polarity of the lytics are not shown on the schematic. Anyone else run into this?

#1 is the "burnt" resistor, check the ends (red arrow) (the schematic show 1.(blob)
#2 is the readable 8 ohm ohm resistor
#3 is the position of C4 & C5 (.22 ?)

#3 looks like original resistor, but can't tell. Perhaps they changed to value from
.22 to .5 later on - or from .5 to .22?

Could this difference cause the "burning" on the resistor?

Glad I can use the same lube on the Wurlitzer as Seeburg! I like having common supplies!

Don't worry about the resistors. This is an L-V circuit and there is no likelihood of flashover changing the resistance on these wirewound types. If you have continuity -leave them.

That circuit is positive-ground. The little C4 & C5 are non-polarized. they are just for transient suppression. You can just use one cap of 1mfd or greater but if you use an electrolytic type it is necessary to observe polarity.

Thanks for that info. The schematic are parts list are correct then. That is good news. :D

I was questioning the polarity on electrolytics C1, C2-A, and C2-B
