Hi, control
I just acquired a Rowe AMI CD100 jukebox. It powers on but when it tries to read cd it spins for a few seconds and then stops. Its just keeps repeating that over and over. The previous owner said it did that. he also said go back later and it works as long as you keep it turned on. also the display it not lit where you choose cd. the whole front control panel is not lit. the previous owner said when it works the display was lit. all the lights work inside of machine and the cds on top spin..
any help would be greatly appreciated
Jeff

Jeff: The rowe cd jukboxes are cd100 followed by a letter. Even though most of the mechanism's and amplifiers are similar, they are not exact. You need to post what your specific model is. Did you get a service manual yet? Use the sources here to obtain one. The one problem you mentioned, the cd starting and stopping sounds like the player is trying to read the disc and is "confused". it will try several times and stop. Start with cleaning the lens. Mark

Hi Jeff,
Welcome to the forum.
Ron is correct we need more information.
If your display is not working you may have issues with the power supply, make sure all the led's are lit. There could be a service switch issue, as already said we need more information.

Exact machine model number is needed from the nameplate on the outside rear of the jukebox.

Depends--Which player is installed in your phono ? "Cloth" is not recommended for any model.

U thunked wrong--Rowe, as well as most jukebox makers, used Phillips brand players--Unfortunately, Phillips continually "improved",their product, over the years, and brought out new models. They also, unfortunately, IMHO, soon dis-continued "support" for the older models. The jukebox companies did what they could to help out the operator, by offering "update kits" consisting of all the parts needed ( in Rowe's case), to upgrade the oldest to the (then) current model player, and mech control.
In Rowe's case, they started with the Phillips model CDM-3, then went to the CDM-4, to the CDM-12, the CDM PRO, and last one, the CDM-PRO-2. The best way to tell which one is installed in your machine, is to look at the mech controller--find a number on it, or describe the LED set-up, and you can at least come close, if you don't know how to distinguish on player from the next.
