CD100C NOT WORKING AFTER POWERED DOWN DURING PLAYBACK

I've got a ROWE CD100C that was working perfectly until it was switched off during playback. On powering back up, the disc is on the platter but the mech will not return it to the magazine. All status lights are OK, no errors listed in SERVICE MODE. The CANCEL button on the mech control will not spin the magazine. All disc selections are cancelled and an attempt at initialization, whether full or individual is likewise cancelled. Display shows FREE, not OUT OF ORDER. If I return the disc to the magazine manually it doesn't change anything. Is this a faulty mech control board?

More info needed--
Which player/MCC is installed in that phono ?
Which versions are the CCC and MCC chips ?
Any "errors" shown either on display, or on CCC/MCC, LED's?
"How", did you "return the disc---" ?

When you say you return the cd to the magazine manualy. are you cycling the gripper arm and letting it put the cd back? I have seen this on a 100B. the gripper cam must be turned only clockwise. it is on the left side of the mechanism. the cam must contact and close the inner switch in order to allow the magazine to turn. check all connections in this area the, 2 switches and the motor.
