Newbie and need rockola 490 help

by shadowdiver » Mon Oct 22, 2012 4:42 pm

Newbie here with a Rockola 490-2 Earth Tone. Just bought the juke and need some help in locating the manuals. Does anyone have, or know of, a link to the manuals on-line? I have the "Mechanism & Amplifier Adjustments" and the "System 2 Control Unit" operating manuals. I bought the machine in "working but needs programing" condition, turn it on and it lights up but nothing else. And for what I paid, it was practically free so I'm not complaining. I'm mainly looking for the Wiring Diagram, Service and Supplement (Parts Catalog) manuals so I can get it going again. Thanks for the input.

Hi Shadow,
Welcome--couple of words of advise--
Most of the "free" online stuff is junk--I would suggest you look at the "announcement" above, and purchase what you need from a "legit" seller--
One thing I suggest you ( and any other owner of a "490-", and later, RockOla) do, immediately, is open the computer up, and at least change the battery ! I usually add wires and mount that battery OUTSIDE of the computer, so that if it leaks ( and they ALWAYS do), it will not ruin the computer !

Yeah, the battery was one of the first things that I removed, along with the 45s.
