1998 rowe encore whole left side speakers sound disstorted

by eduardo707 » Fri Dec 31, 2010 2:53 am

my 1998 encore model cd-100 whole left side speakers sound disstorted(like the sound u get with a blown speaker) the 8 inch woofer, mid and tweet, but the right side sound excellent...they sound worse when the volumes low and u can barelly detect it when the volumes high...i already pulled all the speakers out and inspected them and none are ripped, a matter a fact their in great condition,so im guessing it has something to do with the amp,but not sure since the right side speakers sound great...really could use some expert advice on this issue...thanks in advance...and thank you datasync for solving my last issue!!

Eduardo,
Switch the wires from one channel to the other on the "transformer pack" --If the problem switches channels, you have internal amp problems.
(If in the USA, I repair those amps--contact me off list, if you wish-- ronnnrich@yahoo.com ) Ron Rich

Hello Eduardo,

Ron is on the money with the opinion that the amp is faulty on one channel. It could be down to dry joints on the amplifier boards or blown output transistors.
