Hello everyone,

I am working on a M100B for a friend. The jukebox is in terrible condition, so filthy it's unbelievable. I am working on the Pin Bank today. I have worked on these before and cleaned them, but, this one is so dirty that I am wondering what is the best way to clean it, and what is the best thing to use ? If anyone has ever cleaned a real dirty one before, please help me out.

Those old E-M boxes are right at the outside of my interest so I've only owned a BL-R-JL. In each case I opened the pinbank and washed all with diluted floor stripper same as I use for washing the mechs and most other components. Rinse in fairly hot water and blow dry with a reversed vacuum cleaner and -clean- hose.

There are a lot of small washers, one for every pin and they have a rounded side that must go back in facing the contact plate..As I found to my annoyance the first time I re-did one.

There is a strong likelihood that at least one selector magnet coil is shorted or burned out, so once the unit is dry you might as well check all 100 of them with an ohmmeter before re-assembling it.

Unfortunately, I have "done" more the my share of SA units--Thank God, for the TMU !!
That being said--I first use a different method of "checking coils"*--then, I disassemble (68 screws, if I recall correctly--I've counted the more then once--came up with different totals !), remove all 100 pins, washers and springs. Individually clean/check, each and every part, re-assemble using a "propitiatory" system developed by a friend of mine. Also, I check all of the "grounding plates", and contacts. set "pressure" as necessary, and re-solder the ground wires. I "Havetobe"in the correct mood to tackle this job, as I know I am in for at least 5 hours, of intensive work, and probably a neck ache, after it's done--
* speaking of coils There is NO excuse for burned out coils--On WSR-5's use a maximum 1.6 amp fuse in the open fuse holder ( I know--some are marked as 2 amp). If it's "blowing", FIX the CCU ! On the WSR-7's use a one amp sloblo only --

I am into it, and cleaning cleaning. It is tedious, but I am into it, No burnt coils as of now. I will let you know when I have it back together. It will probably be a while before I test it, because the rest of the jukebox needs total restoration, but I will let you know. I am sure I will have more questions. Thank you again for the help.
