Jukebox amp

Thanks to Ron and Rob I got my 2200 on it's feet ,now the amp is not loud enough and a rebuild is above my skill level, looking around it's going to take about $400 with shipping to repair.Has anyone installed a electronic amp in a jukebox or am I just going have to bite the bullet. thanks again Ron

IMHO, one should stay with an original amp for any jukebox ! If another amp type is installed, there are many "considerations" to think about, such as "muting", original speakers ability to handle the new amp, Input differences--++++
I just don't think it's "worth doing"--- I think one is MUCH better off sending it to a person who is familiar with the jukebox amp !

Thanks Ron, I'm thinking about doing it as I have done a few radios before . I figure I'll have to add a cobra also .

"Nap" the problem with subbing a Wurlitzer amp is twofold; it provides the power to the selection and robotics systems and, in the case of the mono machines, the Cobra requires the oscillator native to the original amp.

Those amps use a printed board for their voltage amp stages and are really easy to rework. There are some capacitors outside of that section and replacing the filter cans is a little more challenging -but nothing that can't be handled. A "cap kit" will cost less than $70 or-so and even if a few tubes are needed, the cost won't go much over $100, so think it over.
