Grafonola Help

Hello,

I recently picked up a Grafonola, which seems to be in pretty good condition. I was able with a bit of effort, plus removal of the auto stop/break, to free up the tonearm so it swings side to side. It's still a little too stiff on the vertical movement. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can carefully remove the tonearm from the elbow?
